SRI Lanka’s cricketers are the obvious casualties from this week’s terror attack in Lahore. But so are Pakistan’s.
They and their millions of fans love the noble old game just as much as we do in Australia, or the Sri Lankans do, but the Pakistanis will be waiting a very long time to see it being played again internationally on their turf.
The worst-case scenario is the game could wither and die of isolation, precisely the contingency that moved their ever-changing administrations to plead for Australia and other countries to fulfil engagements during the past few years. Continue reading
