Laced with Barbed Wire (a poem by HUR)

PTH has recieved a poem from HUR who is currently confronted with the troubled climate in Islamabad.

The only window
in this suffocation
has suddenly
stopped looking.

It used to, before
this freedom spell
when grass was
green till eyes could see.

I could go out
to facelift my exterior
through a corridor
with soul and a lot of wit.

Our laughter could echo,
air could find a deep
recess to cool the
heat of summer days.

Neatly stacked sandbags
laced with barbed wire
took my view
from light and shade.
